For the community, by the community
What started as a humble dream of one person has since grown dramatically. We had our first market in winter of 2018. Conway showed us that the Wunder Markets can be a part of the community. Since then, we continue to connect Conway to local vendors, from performers to creators to farmers. Our work couldn’t happen without the help of our sponsors. Sponsors provide much needed assistance, and sometimes comes in surprising forms. Providing several things like sound assistance to photo booth props and web hosting, our sp0nsors meet several of our needs. Please take a moment to visit them, because they, like our vendors and our Wunder Markets, are part of the Conway community.
WunderHaus, of course, is the home of the Wunder Markets. Jacqueline Smith, co-owner of WunderHaus, is the visionary behind these markets. WunderHaus is a European Kitchen dedicated to “Haus-made” fine foods sourced from local farms. As one of the few restaurants in Conway featuring farm-to-table food, they work hard to connect Conway to food grown right here in Central Arkansas.
We work with The Locals on our Green Space Initiative. The Locals is a community of co-producers–a group of people intentionally consuming and producing the things and ideas they want to see flourish in the world. They want to be conscious of what they consume, knowledgeable about where it comes from and aware that each time we consume something it affects our community around the corner and around the world.
Conway EcoFest is a huge supporter of the WunderMarkets, and they have been with us from they start. Conway EcoFest works towards a vision of a well-informed population of all ages whose incremental changes through daily living lead to a healthier environment for Conway and Central Arkansas. Conway EcoFest works closely with the Wunder Markets in much of our planning to help us make environmentally friendly choices where we can.
The folks at Rock Pond Pros have been with us since the beginning! They provide much appreciated support with the Wunder Markets’ website, and helps guide us with marketing strategies. Their mission is to impact people locally- globally. We think working with the Wunder Markets is a big step toward that goal!
We are thrilled that Palmer Music Co will be running sound during the Summer Market. This local music school knows a thing or two about sound! Palmer Music Company is Central Arkansas’ premiere location for private music lessons, quality instrument sales and repair. They are your full service musical resource from beginning to end.
Summit Community Care has been working hard to make sure our Kids’ Corner is a thriving success! They are providing materials for our crafts, and also volunteering in planning and running our Kids’ Corner. They are a Provider-Led Arkansas Shared Savings Entity (PASSE). They work with the Arkansas Medicaid Program to help individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs keep track of their health and maintain their independence.
America Jane Vintage has a special role in the Wunder Markets this year- they are providing props for our photobooth! Our Summer Market theme is the Paper Moon, a photography staple from the early 20th century. Vintage props were a perfect fit for America Jane Vintage! Our downtown neighbors have the perfect piece to complete your home or wardrobe.
The Summer Market will be a drop off point for the Certain Little Free Class Pantry. The Little Free Class Pantry serves the students of Conway High School. The guiding principle is take what you need, leave what you can. Arkansas ranks 2nd highest in the country for food insecurity, and this class pantry is doing the work to keep our children fed. Crystal Certain, founder of the Certain Little Free Class Pantry, is also providing Mermaid Story Time at the Summer Market!
Happily Ever After Parties is joining the Summer Market and will be bringing the Mermaid Princess to our Mermaid Story Time! Happily Ever After Parties is a Princess Entertainment group established in 2013 located in Central Arkansas. The mermaids will astound children at the Wunder Market!
