Our first Summer Market was a great success! With just under 40 vendors and a larger market space, we saw about 3,500 attendees even in the hot, hot heat! Now, we turn our gaze toward Autumn Market! Just a week ago, we got the go ahead from Mayor Bart Castleberry – we’re able to extend the Market Space to Locust Ave, as well as Oak St to Parkway Ave. That will make this market the largest undertaking to date. With the help of the city of Conway, all vendors will have access to electricity! What a feat!
Now, here’s what we’ve got in store for you, Conway:
The new Market space will allow for 60+ vendors, expanded children’s activities, a silent auction, and a pie contest!
A “March of the Pumpkins” will begin before sundown! Yes, led by some extra talented musicians, you’ll have the opportunity to watch your littles join in a procession throughout the market space. We will also host crafts and story time with the good witch and the wicked witch!
Our “Bake the World a Better Place” Pie Contest will be judged by local “Celebrity” judges, giving a few select amateur bakers bragging rights! Yes, we are talking sweet expert Patti Stobaugh, food writer Kevin Shalin, and writer Kat Robinson… who is privy to all things pie and Arkansas food! And that’s just a start! Stay tuned for more details on that!
We will be showing off our vision for the Green Space Initiative! This project is blossoming into a full blown non-profit endeavor and that means that we will be placing more emphasis on the “end goal” for these markets! Read more about our Green Space Initiative for Conway here.
Our performers for this market include Townsend, the Leider Vox Duo, SongFarmers of Conway, the Rackensack Folklore Society, our very own Jake Watts, and not one, but two performances from the Red Curtain Theatre! We are pleased to be surrounded by so much local talent!
We are confident that this market will be the largest to date, and that it will be a bit packed due to the incredible response we’ve received thus far, so we are asking for your patience and participation. If you have any interest in volunteering, please click here to fill out the form.
