“Bake the World a Better Place” Pie Contest

We are having a pie contest at our Autumn Market!  What better way to celebrate the Fall Season than with a pie contest?  Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Sign up online and pay your $10 entrance fee.

Step 2: Bake TWO pies.

Step 3: Bring your pies to the Autumn Market  (Sunday, October 20) by 6:30.  Remember to include your name and phone number labelled on the bottom of your pie pan, and a list of ingredients to place near your pie.

Then the judging will commence!  We are excited to announce our local celebrity judges who will join us!  Patti Stobaugh, of PattiCakes Bakery; Kim Williams of City of Conway; Kevin Shalin of The Mighty Rib; and local food author Kat Robinson.  There are four categories of contest: best appearance, best classic apple pie, best anything goes apple pie, and people’s choice award.  Prizes include a cookbook from Kat Robinson, artwork by local artist Jeanetta Darley, a fall themed tea towel from Bell Urban Farm, and more!

After our judges have sampled each pie, we will sell forks to market attendees, who will sample each pie.  Attendees will signify their favorite pie by placing their fork in the container for their favorite pie.

All proceeds raised from the Pie Contest will support our Green Space Initiative.
