March of the Pumpkins

After our first March of the Moons procession through the 2019 Summer Market, we decided to march again at our Autumn Market!  Kids will make pumpkin masks, and proceed throughout the market grounds.  The Leider Vox Duo will lead the March of the Pumpkins with their accordion and lute!  The March of the Pumpkins will commence around 6pm, so come early enough to make your pumpkin mask!

Westwork Designs Architectural Building Blocks

One of our vendors, Westwork Designs, will have a play area near his booth so families can create with his custom building blocks!  Playing with simple toys like blocks fosters creativity in a way that modern flashy toys don’t- there are so many ways to play!  Building from your imagination is a joy to children and adults alike.

Story Time with the Good Witch

The Good Witch is coming to the Autumn Market!  She’ll bring some ~magical~ books to read to our littles, and you’ll get to take pictures with her!  Better watch out- the Wicked Witch may come with her!

The Good Witch comes to us from the Certain Little Free Class Pantry.  We are partnering with her to bring food to the students at Conway High School.  The Autumn Market will be a drop off point for food and hygiene products for the Certain Little Free Class Pantry!  Please consider contributing to this great, local cause.

“Bake the World a Better Place” Pie Contest

What better way to celebrate fall than to have a pie contest??  We are so excited for this new addition to the markets!  Who’s the judge of these pies, you may ask?  Local food author, Kat Robinson; Kim Williams from the City of Conway; Kevin Shalin of The Mighty Rib; and Patti Stobaugh of PattiCakes Bakery.  One winner will be chosen from each category, and the prizes include artwork by local artist Jeanetta Darley, a cookbook from Kat Robinson, fall themed tea towels from Bell Urban Farm, and more!  After judging at 7pm, the pies will be cut and slices will be sold to market attendees, and all proceeds from the pie contest will benefit our Green Space Initiative.  Read more on that here.  Click the button below to read all rules and to sign up online.

Make and Take Seed Bombs
and Sensory Bins

Needing a moment away from the market crowd with your little ones? Join us at the Faulkner County Library booth. You can use your hands or our cookie cutters to create with play-doh or explore one of our sensory bins. The bins will be filled with colored rice, black beans, or sand. We’ll have farm animals, jack-lanterns, cauldrons, scoops, and big spoons on hand for play in the bins.

ake them, take them, throw them, watch them grow!  Seed bombs have a number of seeds rolled in clay or paper.  When planted and growing, they produce all the plants of the seeds included.  The Faulkner County Urban Farm Project, part of the Faulkner County Library, will facilitate the making of seed bombs, while teaching about native Arkansas plants.  Expect to see lots of native perennials growing soon!

Crafts for Kids (and Kids at Heart)

At the Autumn Market, we are partnering with Conway AR Rocks, who will help us with our rock painting crafts!  They paint, hide, and hunt rocks in Conway, helping to create Wunder all over our city!
We will also be making pumpkin masks, for our March of the Pumpkins!  Join us for all the crafty fun!

Bat Cave Exploration

The Green Bat is coming to the Autumn Market to teach folks about the role bats play in our ecosystem.  They are also bringing their bat cave!  Let your child explore this life size bat cave- right here in Downtown Conway!  Thanks, Green Bat!  Green Bat focuses on the conservation of bats and caves by collaborating with many organizations and individuals to provide the best information possible.

We are thrilled that Palmer Music Co will be running sound for the Wunder Markets.  This local music school knows a thing or two about sound!  Palmer Music Company is Central Arkansas’ premiere location for private music lessonsquality instrument sales and repair.  They are your full service musical resource from beginning to end.
